As you know, I’m quite used to doing Luxury Travel, but the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel is completely on another level, they take the “Palace” very seriously.
rom the beginning we were given an incredible welcome with a small bottle of champagne, a tour of the beautiful common areas of the Villas, and to close with a gold pin, upon arriving at the room I found a small box with 6 pink, red and yellow macaroni accompanied by a small welcome letter written by GM Mr Jorge Manzur.
The macarons were delicious I may add.
So, we entered the hotel in the middle of the afternoon, and we only enjoyed the facilities by noon upon our arrival, so I will begin the story with the breakfast of the next day.
So many food options!
We got up early to take advantage of breakfast. The food was served on a small “village” breakfast table with a great view of the gardens and the lake.
There, I was in for a varied breakfast, they gave us a delicious brown coffee, a well-concentrated orange juice and an incredible variety to choose from among proteins, fruits, and charcuterie.
Also, breakfast was accompanied by a spectacular Spanish milk cream.

The hotel has an incredible list of celebrities who give faith to the luxury they offer.
During breakfast, we met Joaquín Cortés a famous Spanish flamenco dancer. Besides, at lunchtime, we could see Antonio Banderas who was there for the photo shooting of a magazine.
But I think the biggest Star lately would be Jennifer Lopez, who was there in the hotel just a week before, with her whole family and crew members –Getting 30 rooms for the team.
She was there only for 4 days in the private Obama Villa, which has everything needed for her to relax, train and have some Spa time.
This is how she prepared for her “It’s my party: The live celebration” in Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain. Which, by the way, was the first JLo concert in Spain for almost a decade.
Heavenly common areas
Villa Padierna is in the middle of the golf courses and olive trees.
It Has Beach Club by the Sea “club de Mar” and the Villa Padierna Paddle club and Racket Club which are open until late night.
Besides, along the way you can enjoy the sight of their golf courses, Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel Benahavis has Amazing Golf courses! And an exclusive Golf Clubhouse “Hole 55” with amazing views and all the Golf tour top players trough time.
The courses, FLAMINGOS, ALFERIN, and TRAMORES are used by the Michael Campbell golf academy part of the day in mid-week days.
But I think that what made the overall experience so special is the amount of green that you see at all times. Anantara feels like being in another time in that way.
Our leisure time
We had an exceptional time by the pool, taking sun and swimming.
Besides, when we were there we could see a wedding that was happening in another area of the hotel, and in the afternoon of the second day, there was a photo shooting actor Antonio Banders.
We had lunch by the pool every day, and always selected the “dish of the day” –I usually do that to get the freshest dish and taste new dishes. And of course we took a glass of champagne, and ham and melon pate and some chips for the afternoon snacks 🙂
On the second night at the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel, we had a very special and romantic dinner at Restaurant ‘O’ by Paco Roncero, a special project driven by the 2-Michelin chef.
The food was just impressive, so I made a separate food review blog for it.
We enjoyed this new gastronomic concept in a privileged location on the hills of the Costa del Sol and I got to taste new flavors from Spain.
Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel Benahavis Has 8 private villas, so we took the time to accept the guided tour around them!
Jennifer Lopez was hosted at The Obama Villa, named after Michelle Obama when she visited Marbella in August 2010 to celebrate her daughter’s birthday.

At the end
Our dinner at the Sushi bar & Restaurant 99, which also has places in Madrid, Barcelona, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai was amazing.
I took sushi with foie grass, which is my favorite, and it was so delicious, I also tasted a great wagyu beef carpaccio that they had on the menu.
Every week the hotel has also client’s cocktail hour with the director in which you can suggest any change that comes to mind –Although I had nothing to change about this venue.
We had an unforgettable summer 2019 holiday and a 6-stars hotel service at Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel Benahavis. And I loved every second.
